Moose encounters & the end of volume week!
Wow,...last Sunday our athletes finished their volume block that included two weekends (each consisted of 5 workouts) of 11-13 hours of training! This was physically and mentally challenging. As the pictures show below, skiers also were challenged by moose who didn't want to get off the trail...

Finally skiing!!!!!
Today we finally got on skis up at Glen Alps and the Powerline Road. It was a bluebird day with lot's of moose around- several of them with giant trophy racks (antlers) Everyone (the skiers) was pretty anxious to get on snow – October 29 is pretty late for us wich pretty much says that we live in a great place for skiing

What did you do last Sunday at 8AM?
Here is what the UAA nordic team did: We went for -- hopefully -- our last run/ hike of the season in the Chugiak mountains. Although we didn't find SNOW, we had a great time, and enjoyed an incredible view of Anchorage, Cook Inlet and even Mt. McKinley, and watched dall sheep from up close! Stay tuned for video starring Karl and Michi as "sheep hunters."
